I recently won two cases in the California Court of Appeals for clients who petitioned to challenge their murder convictions under Penal Code section 1172.6. Initially, the trial courts refused to hear the merits of their arguments, and the court of appeals upheld the trial courts’ rulings. But the California Supreme Court granted our petitions for review, and after the decision in People v. Strong, our cases were transferred back to the appellate court where we ultimately prevailed. You can read the opinions here and here.
